Dr. Mahmoud Al-Qayati, a member of the Meteorological Authority’s Media Center, revealed that the weather condition continues to be affected by warm air masses. It leads to a slight rise in temperatures above their normal levels, with the high today reaching 25 degrees Celsius in Greater Cairo, and 28 degrees Celsius in the governorates of South Upper Egypt.
Al-Qayati told Masrawy, in exclusive statements, that the weather condition today, as soon as noon sets in, the sources of air masses will begin to change, especially on the northern coasts, and will begin to be affected by new air masses on the northwestern coasts. It causes sand and dust to spread over areas of Matrouh and Salloum.
A member of the Meteorological Authority’s media center explained that during the evening hours, light rain begins in areas of the far west of the Republic, at Salloum and Matrouh.
Al-Qayati pointed out that starting tomorrow, air masses will begin to penetrate further; Which leads to a drop in temperatures in most regions of the Republic, up to Cairo and northern Upper Egypt, and active winds. Which increases the feeling of cold weather.
He continued: Tomorrow’s weather will be accompanied by rain of varying intensity, moderate on the northwestern coasts and northern Lower Egypt governorates, and less severe on the northeastern governorates.
Al-Qayati continued: The weather condition tomorrow, Monday, will witness disruption of maritime traffic in the Mediterranean Sea, and the height of waves in the Mediterranean Sea will reach 3 metres.
The meteorology member added that Tuesday’s weather will be the peak weather in terms of weather conditions, and will witness high amounts of rain and may reach heavy at times on areas of the northern coasts and northern Lower Egypt, and moderate on the governorates of southern Lower Egypt, with chances of it extending and being light to areas of Cairo. The largest and first in northern Upper Egypt.
He added: Wind activity will continue on Tuesday, leading to disruption of maritime navigation and a greater feeling of coldness.
