Upcoming Ukraine – Russia talks scheduled for Turkey The news

Kyiv, March 27, LETA – BBC. The next meeting of the official delegations of Ukraine and Russia is scheduled to take place in Turkey on March 28-30, David Arakham, a participant in the parliamentary faction of the ruling People’s Servant Party in Ukraine, said on Sunday.

“Today, during another round of video talks, it was decided to hold the next round of live talks between the two delegations in Turkey on March 28-30,” Arahamia wrote on his Facebook page.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitro Kuleb was reportedly denied statements by Turkish President Regier Tajip Erdogan on Friday that Russia and Ukraine had been able to agree on four points in the talks, stressing that no consensus had been reached on the issue.

According to the Turkish media, Erdogan said that Russia and Ukraine had managed to agree on four of the six points of talks – Ukraine’s refusal to join NATO, the use of the Russian language in Ukraine, disarmament and security guarantees.

“There is no consensus with Russia on the four points mentioned by the Turkish president. Specifically, the only official language in Ukraine is and will remain the Ukrainian language.

He added that many different issues were being discussed at the same time in the sub-groups of the negotiating delegations and that the negotiation process was very difficult.

The Minister emphasized that the Ukrainian delegation had taken a very strong position and was not relinquishing its demands. First and foremost, Ukraine demands an end to hostilities, security and the guarantee of Ukraine’s territorial integrity.

NATO member Turkey has sought to become a mediator in ending the war because of good relations with both Ukraine and Russia, but has refused to join Western sanctions against Russia.
