Upcoming OnePlus Open: Specs, Features, and Release Date Revealed

OnePlus Open was almost completely revealed before the premiere
It will attract a top display, a large battery and one of the best cameras in flexible phones
The performance should already take place on October 19

Flexible smartphones are currently driving the smartphone world, but not all manufacturers have introduced their iron in the fire. The latecomers also include the Chinese brand OnePlus, which is hard at work on its model called Open. It should soon be officially presented to the whole world, but it has not yet happened. However, this does not mean that we do not have any information about the upcoming news. After a recent leak of press images, some specifications have now become public that definitely deserve your attention.

OnePlus Open will have nothing to be ashamed of

The secret is not the official promotional pictures that X showed off on the social network Ishan Agarwal. These give users the opportunity to look at a device that has not yet been presented through a slightly different lens. But much more interesting are the pictures that reveal the specifications of the upcoming OnePlus Open, which it came with Yogesh Brar.

OnePlus Open press image leaked

According to him, we can look forward to an external 6.31″ Super Fluid AMOLED display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz (and LTPO 3.0 support), finesse of 431 ppi, maximum brightness of 2,800 nits, 1440Hz PMW and Ceramic Guard protection. The internal 7.82″ Flexi-fluid AMOLED panel, on the other hand, will offer a 120Hz refresh rate (with LTPO 3.0 support), a fineness of 426 ppi, a 10-bit color depth and a maximum brightness of 2,800 nits. There is also support for Dual ProXDR.

Thanks to the nickname leaker Arsène Lupin we also know not only the form of the box, which is rather unsurprisingly red, but also another batch of specifications. We can look forward to a black and green color variant, 16 GB of RAM, 512 GB of internal memory, the largest battery in a flexible smartphone (unfortunately, it does not mention the capacity) with support for 67W charging, the OxygenOS 13 superstructure built on Android 13 with the ability to run up to three applications at once. In the Geekbench benchmark, the OnePlus Open then scored 1,557 points on a single core and 4,462 points on multiple cores. The selling price should be 1,699 dollars (approx. 47,800 CZK with VAT).

Information regarding cameras is also interesting. The main 48Mpx sensor is to be supplied by Sony and should be the latest LYTIA–T808 sensor with a size of 1/1.43″, which should be comparable to the IMX989. Other parameters of the main camera include f/1.7 aperture and optical image stabilization. The wide-angle camera will most likely get a resolution of 48 Mpx and an aperture of f/2.2, and the telephoto lens will boast a resolution of 64 Mpx, 3x optical zoom, an aperture of f/2.6 and optical image stabilization. The internal selfie camera will probably have 20 Mpx, while the external one should get a resolution of 32 Mpx.

OnePlus Open will be presented in two color variants

OnePlus itself boasted some details. Specifically, it is a joint called Flexion, which is supposed to have the shape of a water drop and thereby reduce the visible crease on the internal display. We do not yet know when we will see the official presentation, however, the most likely date is October 19.
