Solo. On Friday, September 29, the prominent Scottish guitarist Sean Šibe will perform for the first time in Latvia. He will open concert halls Big Amber organized contemporary art festival Liepāja Art Forum. In the program Unusual/Out There Sean Schiebe will play both acoustic and electric guitar and perform opuses of early and contemporary music that focus on spirituality and mysticism. The program will feature Johann Sebastian Bach and Hildegard of Bingen, as well as Olivier Messiaen, Julius Eastman, Sofia Gubaidulina, Agustin Barrios-Mangore, Steve Reich and Julia Wolfe. Sean Schiebe is a leader of a new generation of guitarists, a versatile and innovative musician who has won high critical acclaim. Chamber music. Opera stars go outside Riga – on Saturday, September 30, bass-baritone Egils Siliņš and pianist Māris Skuja will perform music by Latvian and German composers in Ventspils. Premiere. In honor of the centenary of the director and playwright Pēteras Pētersons (1923–1998), a concert program has been created in the Daile Theater A poem about a gambler, created by the director Viesturs Kairišs and the head of the musical part of the theater Juris Vaivods. Pēteris Pētersons is the founder of the poetry theater tradition in Latvia.
