Mitsubishi will launch a new SUV in Indonesia next month. The vehicle is a production version of the XFC prototype model which has been exhibited several times. Then, what is Suzuki’s response as a competitor?
Harold Donnel as Head of Brand Development & Marketing Research 4W at PT Suzuki Indomobil Sales (SIS) realized that the presence of the production version of the Mitsubishi XFC would definitely make the SUV market in Indonesia even tighter. However, he claimed to be ready for the competition.
“We see that the more competition in the automotive industry, the healthier it will be. We see that in the end it will provide education and new choices for consumers to choose the right vehicle for them,” Harold said when met in Yogyakarta, Wednesday afternoon (5/7).

Harold promised that Suzuki would make various efforts to win the competition in a segment with many players. According to him, the tight market makes manufacturers required to continue to make new innovations.
“We also hope to be able to provide appropriate vehicles for consumers out there,” he said.
It is known that the production version of the Mitsubishi XFC will be launched at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show or GIIAS 2023 exhibition. Interestingly, before the launch, the car was caught on camera being tested on the Trans Java Toll Road last Saturday (24/6).
As with road tests in general, the Mitsubishi XFC was covered in camouflage stickers to obscure its identity. However, if you pay close attention, the appearance of the vehicle is not much different from the XFC concept that the manufacturer has exhibited several times.

The new car, which is predicted to be ready to challenge the Honda HR-V, carries a dynamic shield design with a fairly firm honeycomb grille. While the headlamp pattern is exactly the same as the concept or prototype version.
The most striking part of the vehicle lies in the additional lighting in the bumper area. However, in the spy shots we received, these components are not very visible, because they are covered with camouflage stickers.
If you pay close attention, the XFC that was tested on the road was almost no different from the XFC concept. In fact, the rim design and the curves of the body are exactly the same. It may be that the production version only gets additional details in certain parts.
Although it has not been disclosed, Mitsubishi XFC will certainly use a completely new frame and engine. Meanwhile, for the official name of the product, the manufacturer still closes it tightly.
