Science on stage at the MIT Museum
Enjoy a live reading of Young Nerds of Color, a new play by Melinda Lopez, followed by a discussion with special guest scholars Chris Boston, Matthew Luther, Omar Rutledge, and Diana Gikunju. Science on Stage is organized through the Catalyst Collaborative at MIT, produced in collaboration with Central Square Theatre.

slow flow yoga class
A relaxing slow flow yoga class in our Abbey room. The Hands to Heart Center (HTHC) Yoga 4 All program shares the healing practice of yoga with low-income and underserved communities in the greater Boston area.
HTHC’s yoga classes are designed to be culturally affirming, accessible, inclusive and inspiring – yoga classes that everyone can participate in.
In this slow flow yoga class, participants will be slowly and mindfully guided through a variety of yoga poses.

Berklee Institute of Popular Music Twenty-First Annual Showcase
The Berklee Popular Music Institute (BPMI) will present its 21st annual showcase, featuring seven artists selected by the class of 2023.
In just a few months, these artists will be performing on the stages of major music festivals alongside some of the world’s most esteemed artists.
BPMI Live, the institute’s three-semester experiential education program, provides students with the opportunity to expand their skills beyond the classroom and into the live music industry.

Animal rights day for children and families
Back in its 15th year, this beloved family event celebrates animals of all kinds, with a focus on how they enhance our lives and how to best care for them.
This year’s performances include an Essex County Sheriff’s Department police dog demonstration, clicker training with Blue Dog, guard dog training with K-9 Top Performance, and exotic and unusual animals exhibited by Curious Creatures.
Senator Bruce Tarr will speak and answer questions, and Andover Fire Captain Michael Mansfield will discuss the changes brought about by Nero’s Law.
Also returning by popular demand: Andover Firefighters with their rescue truck and gear, vendor tables, a visit from Lucky the Law Dog, and an appearance by The Easter Bunny including a round of ‘The Bunny Hop’ and take- Easter homemade treats.

Girls Coding Workshop @ Northeastern University
Practical workshop on image coding. For girls ages 10-14 to enjoy a day to create their own images, just like phones do. This event is free and beginner friendly, and our goal is to learn to code in a supportive and encouraging environment.
These hands-on coding workshops for girls are developed and led by a Northeastern University computer science professor and hosted with the support of computer science students who are here to help everyone learn and have fun.

Talk by artist Brian McCook (Katya)
Chat with artist Brian McCook, an actor, author, and artist who, after graduating from Massachusetts College of the Arts in Boston, began performing in drag as Katya Zamolodchikova.
Katya achieved notability after placing fifth on the seventh season of the reality competition series RuPaul’s Drag Race and second on the second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.
In 2019, Katya wrote and held a solo show that toured North America, Europe, the UK, and Australia.
