This is also proven by the interesting pictures that one reader sent us recently. He caught a mysterious SUV dressed in camouflage foil in Prague and also managed to take a picture of it. Unfortunately, there are only three photos, because the crew in the car was understandably not paying attention, so the prototype quickly disappeared again.
At first glance, it is obvious that the caught prototype does not belong to the Škoda car company from Mladá Boleslav. This is revealed by some details, especially the solution of the headlights. In our opinion, these are the ones that clearly indicate that we are looking at an upcoming Dacia brand new product.
This is also indicated by the front grille (note the covering of the spot that corresponds to the position of the Dacia logo) and the way the lamps follow it. The taillights appear to be in the shape of the letter ypsilon. And we also see an interestingly shaped hood, a distinctive front bumper, raised rear fenders or a “rising” bottom line of the rear side windows.
From all this, we conclude that the prototype of the third generation Dacia Duster is moving around Prague, which should be presented to us in full display during the next year.
We have known for a long time that the design of the new Duster will be significantly influenced by the Bigster concept, which Dacia revealed at the beginning of 2021. And the photos of the camouflaged car from Prague only confirm it.
Let’s also remember that the Duster in the new edition will use the CMF-B platform known from the Sandero, Logan and Jogger models. As far as engines are concerned, the new Duster will most likely not get a diesel engine – at least in the version for European markets.
The basis will probably be a turbocharged petrol three-cylinder with a volume of 1.2 liters, supplemented by 48V mild-hybrid technology. The unit should be available in two power variants and also in an LPG version. Customers will be able to choose between manual and automatic transmissions, and we can also count on an all-wheel drive version.

The fully hybrid Duster E-Tech will certainly arrive, but it remains a mystery whether Dacia went for an older version with an atmospheric sixteen-cylinder engine (we can find it, for example, in the new hybrid Dacia Jogger), or whether it will bet on a newer evolution with a larger 1.8 SCe internal combustion engine.
So the third generation Dacia Duster should arrive next year. In 2025, its even larger relative, a seven-seater SUV, will arrive, which is still referred to as the Bigster model.
