Upcoming Concerts in Liepāja: Austrasbärni, Anta Eņžele, and Latvian Folk Sing-Along

On Friday, November 24, at 7 p.m. in Berči Hall, the Austrasbärni concert program with Ieva Akurateri, Raimonda Vazdik and Ilzi Grunti will be performed, and on Saturday, November 25, at 6 p.m. in Berči Hall, the singer Anta Enžele will entertain the audience.

On the other hand, on Sunday, November 26, at 2 p.m., everyone is invited to sing along to Latvian folk songs with Austrian children at the “Namīns” folklore center.

In July of this year, the students, friends and associates of Austrasbärni, or Austras Pumpure, spent one week at the Renda cultural house in Kuldīga district to prepare a concert program together with Ieva Akurateri, Raimonda Vazdik and Ilzi Grunti.

During the creative week, Ieva Akuratere shared her knowledge in vocal art, the excellent guitarist Ilze Grunte revealed the nuances of playing the guitar, and Raimonda Vazdika – stage art.

The songs of the above-mentioned female singers, as well as those created by Haralds Sīmanis, were learned together.

The newly staged concert program was performed for the first time at the Troubadours singers’ festival in Renda, then in Île of Dobele county and now, this Friday, it will be played in Liepāja.

Around 30 Austrian children from Liepāja, Riga, Cesvaine, Līgatna, etc. participate in the program

The jointly developed concert performance pleases both listeners and participants, who have beautiful summer memories and valuable time spent together.

The program includes lyrical reflections, celebration of life, and gratitude to the Most High, but above all, the bright joy of being together and singing together is captured in the mood.

The upcoming concert program in Liepāja will also be supplemented with songs by Imantas Kalniņš.

On Saturday, the singer Anta Eņžele – the owner of a charming voice, who calls herself a songwriter, will perform music in the Berči hall, because most often she performs not her own songs, but songs by other authors.

Her repertoire is wide, in it we find songs by Imantas Kalniņas as well as songs by different peoples and authors – more widely known and also rarely heard.

Anta is able to flexibly adapt and feel the audience, adjusting the songs to be performed accordingly. She reveals that, thanks to Austras Pumpure’s love for zinc, they could also be heard at the upcoming concert in Liepāja.

On Sunday, November 26, the day when Austra Pumpure would celebrate its 95th anniversary, Austrian children invite you to a cozy sing-along at the folklore center “Namīns”.

The favorite Latvian folk songs of Austria and Austrian children will be played, everyone is invited to participate and sing along.

Admission to concerts by donation.
