Regensburg.Of course you can also pronounce Dilly Dally in German. But Kathrin Hauser, one of the three organizers of the design fair, which will take place in the Marinaforum for the first time this year, has an important objection: Because with the “ä” in the English pronunciation, the full meaning of this sonorous twin word is revealed.

#
It tells of the creative scene, of start-ups, labels and small, fine brands that are at home in Berlin or Hamburg – but above all have grown in the metropolises of Eastern Central Europe. Warsaw is pretty important here, but so are Prague, Ljubljana and Budapest. There are the Czech globetrotters Lenka Jornickova and Jan Maly: Six years ago they decided to refine sand that they collect all over the world into jewelry. They pack different colored grains behind glass – and use them to make bracelets.

#
Or the Fischlein label from Frankfurt am Main: Here, when it comes to the manufacture of clothing from eco-friendly materials, great importance is not only attached to sustainability. It is also produced in a tailor’s workshop, which gives refugee women the opportunity to integrate. Because all too often the working conditions in the “fast fashion industry” are catastrophic.

#
Dilly Dally’s team – which also includes graphic designer Tanja Schuster and interior designer Tanja Jackwerth – attach great importance to fair conditions and sustainability issues: after all, beauty also has something to do with social responsibility. Which is why there will also be a shuttle service by bicycle taxi, with which those interested can be chauffeured out to the Marinaforum.

The women in the team write on their homepage that they love beautiful things that are cool and timeless. And that they see it as their mission to establish something with Dilly Dally in Regensburg, which in turn suggests something of a metropolitan lifestyle, better food and, above all, soul music! The design canteen has proven to be a rock solid against changing fashions: It functions as a café, restaurant, stage and bar. DJs also compose the soundtrack for shopping here.

#
So it is no coincidence that the trio chose “Move on up” as the motto: That is the title of a mid-seventies anthem by Curtis Mayfield. But they also want to express this “coming up” optically – which is why they have chosen yellow tulle as their graphic motto. For this purpose, a group of actors and dancers will form a wandering decoration that tells stories in pictures that address the Dilly Dally myth.
