The UP campaign “green roads” has resulted in big catches in Troms in recent days. On Wednesday night, there were 19 simplified fines during a check in Takelvdalen. During the night, 30 drivers were arrested for speeding, two reported after not adopting the fines. And earlier on Thursday, three drivers were fined for speeding – and two more because they still had studded tires on their cars.
On Thursday evening, the Troms police district reports that six drivers were fined for speeding, where the highest was 104 km / h in the 80-zone on Hundbergan.
– Fines were also imposed for mobile phone use and missing seat belts.
The background for the action is a record number of fatal accidents on the roads in April and May.
