They had been announced this Tuesday on Radio Club Tenerife of Cadena SER, and they have fulfilled it. Up to five heads of the Emergency Department of the Hospital Universitario de Canarias (HUC) have resigned to the management of the center after, yesterday, Monday, the head of the service was dismissed, Guillermo Burrillo, who had been in office for six years and who has had to lead a team in the middle of one of the biggest health crises in memory.
Half a hundred health professionals have concentrated on the steps of the HUC Government Pavilion as a sign of protest at the dismissal. They consider that the decision of management is “unjustified, irresponsible and arbitrary”, as explained by one of those who resigned, Dr. Lissete Travería.
From the HUC management They explain that it is a change in internal management and highlight the excellence of the professionals and the quality they offer. They add that this decision has nothing to do with the care provided by the COVID 19
