JAKARTA, celebrities.id – Children’s chocolate product, Kinder is back in the public spotlight. Because a child in England, had to be rushed to the hospital suspected of Salmonella poisoning.
Mother-of-two Kasey Cooke, from Barry, Wales, said doctors feared her son could fall into a coma because of the massive drop in his blood sugar level.
“It was terrible. It wasn’t worth an egg,” Kasey said.
The mother said Son Billy Way became ill and could not wake up several days after eating a packet of Kinder Surprise eggs. The incident came after chocolate producer Ferrero issued a warning, urging the recall of some Kinder Surprise eggs from Belgium due to fears of contamination. salmonella bacteria earlier this month.
Kasey had no idea that Kinder’s egg was the culprit in the first place. However, he realized his symptoms matched those of salmonella poisoning. After learning about the withdrawal of the DNA product, the hospital tested the child’s stool sample.
“The doctors did a stool sample and they found bacteria in the stool. That’s why they thought it was salmonella,” he said.
Keep in mind, Salmonella bacteria can contaminate food, such as eggs, chicken and dairy products. Not only that, vegetable and fruit products can also be contaminated with Salmonella, if they come into contact with livestock and animal waste.
Side effects that arise can be experienced, diarrhea and fever for about a week. This bacterium is one of the causes of typhoid fever, aka typhoid, but this bacterium can be deadly.
