Unworthy Parents | The Journal of Montreal

The waiting list at the Department of Youth Protection of abused children waiting to be assessed breaks all records.

Indeed, more than five thousand children in danger wait weeks if not months before being taken care of by the few workers of the DPJ.

The president of the workers’ union Robert Comeau, quoted by The Press, said: “If abuse was a virus, we would be in a national emergency. »

The minister responsible Lionel Carmant is hardly unaware of the situation. But for lack of personnel “among others”, it remains powerless in the face of the increase in cases of child abuse,

To put it bluntly, this situation, which persists, forces us to question the responsibility of parents. Unworthy parents of whom we know through the cases of martyred children quoted in the media that they are totally inept and, let’s say it, criminally blameworthy for this reality.

Incapacity

The catastrophic statistics of abused children and the powerlessness of the DYP to act urgently remind us of our collective indifference and above all our hypocrisy.

Quebec society cannot claim to love its children. If this were the case, we would not leave children in the hands of inadequate and limited parents whose way of life seems incompatible with the role of parents.

Beaten and abused children are left to fend for themselves every day. They destroy themselves for lack of help from adults.

All the theories tinged with ideologies adopted by Quebec over the decades have led adults to justify themselves and blame the “system”.

However, Quebec neglects and mistreats its children by crushing them under diagnoses that condemn them to wither away psychologically, morally and physically. No painkiller (no pun intended) will stop us from saying that too many children are raised by incapable, irresponsible, ignorant and perverted parents.

The machinery of government has been jammed for decades. She is paralyzed. And to protect deficient parents while refusing to judge them, we have turned children into martyrs. Shame on us !
