“We have a challenge not only from the Russian Federation and a possible escalation – we have big internal challenges. I received information that a coup will take place in our country on December 1-2,” Zelenskiy was quoted as saying. Reuters, Friday (11/26/2021).
Zelenskiy did not give details of the coup attempt and did not accuse Russia of involvement in it.

Russia has built up troops near its border with Ukraine. This has led Ukraine, the United States (US) and NATO to have voiced concerns about a possible Russian attack – an allegation the Kremlin has dismissed as false and worrying.
Moscow and Kiev have blamed each other for rising tensions in recent weeks, raising fears that a long-running conflict between Ukraine and Russian-backed separatists could erupt into a new open war.
“We are in complete control of our borders and are fully prepared for any escalation,” Zelenskiy said.
