For you, a Crémant de Bourgogne is…
Christian Roux : Conviviality, pleasure, moments of sharing and quality. I know Louis Bouillot and Veuve Ambal well, having worked a lot with them. I am particularly a fan of the Vitteaut-Alberti house that my wife introduced me to.

When did you meet L’Arche in Dijon?
I was an actor Good public then from Journal of Saône‑et‑Loire for about thirty years. I flourished until I retired. But it was a priest, my wife’s uncle, who told me about L’Arche. I immediately joined in the human richness of this association.

The presidency came quickly…
Jacques Brossier, my predecessor, told me: ” What are you going to do now? I’ll fix it for you! I landed in the middle of a regrouping of the four historic sites of L’Arche in Chenôve. L’Arche has filled my life. Our proteges have unfiltered love to spare, they don’t cheat.

When did the transfer take place?
In October 2021. A president is not a notable, but someone who accompanies the community with his board of directors and puts into practice the fundamentals of the association. A life shared with people with disabilities, in a family unit imbued with spirituality.

Why did you keep the La Treille building, rue Sainte-Anne in Dijon?
It is a peaceful bubble where the smell of spring emerges, sheltered from noise and disturbances. This place allows the disabled to take their place in local and cultural life. It temporarily accommodates vulnerable people, thanks to 550 m2 of living space. This habitat is associated with a reception project inviting outsiders to take part in activities, meetings and workshops offered in the house and the garden. Its extraordinary garden is conducive to artistic development.

How did you come to this direction?
The L’Arche federation has offered to host two Ukrainian families: a couple with a motor disability as well as a young man with Down syndrome and his sister. They arrived together, in a truck tired from the road and full to bursting…

Tell us about the very first resident, Wolf.
Wolf was looking for a place to land. We saw in him the guardian of the nascent community. His artist profile is a great tool for communion with others. There is also Michel Jestin, faithful to L’Arche, who invests a lot in an artistic workshop.

The whole world invites itself to La Treille.
Yes, there are young American or German students, or even another Japanese artist who give their time in exchange for the refuge that L’Arche offers them. Two unaccompanied minors were also taken in at the request of the Department of Côte-d’Or: an Egyptian and a Bengali.

The concept and the place are inspiring?
Some associations like Le Balabar (The Feast of Possibilities) are interested in us. Art is a source of fulfillment. Happy Bazaar, our musical evening of March 25 was a great moment of happiness in front of 300 people.

Which means a big job…
To become an inclusive third place, the setting must be adapted, without becoming flashy. An architectural firm integrated energy priorities and the redevelopment of the ground floor used by the community. That is an overall budget of 500,000 euros, financed by some equity, loans and donations, which explains the research we are currently doing.

L’Arche follows you closely…
10 projects including ours were chosen from all the French and international communities to take part, on September 19 at the Hippodrome de Saint-Cloud, in the evening of the Pépites de l’Arche, organized by the Obole agency, the same agency that organizes the famous Nuit du Bien Commun. Each will be represented by a delegation that will raise the stakes in a punchline. La Treille will also organize an evening in Dijon in parallel and will play big.
