Questions are increasing in the current period about the importance of the “Bennu” asteroid dust capsule that arrived on planet Earth and was transported to a safe place in order to be examined accurately.
The capsule contains at least a cup of carbon-rich asteroid debris known as Bennu, but no one yet knows when the container will be opened and its contents revealed.
This relatively large sample helps in understanding the formation of the solar system 4.5 billion years ago and how the Earth and life formed. There is also another reason that the Bennu asteroid is the most dangerous space rock known in the solar system, with the possibility of colliding with the Earth in 2182.
This sample contributes to a better understanding of how to deal with the threat, especially since the asteroid is large enough to create a crater 6 kilometers wide and cause an air explosion while leveling buildings over an area of hundreds of square kilometers on the surface of the Earth.
