Souad Nasr is considered one of the most important female comedians in Egypt and the Arab world. She was distinguished by lightness of blood, and many considered her a talent that did not reveal all her creativity, and that she was similar to Mary Munib and Zeenat Sidqi, and she painted joy on the faces of her fans through a journey that spanned 30 years.
She became famous for the character “Maysa”, which she presented in the famous series “Diary of Wanis”, in its many parts. Souad Nasr was born in Shubra, Cairo, and was distinguished by quick wit and telling jokes, in addition to imitating artists. She loved art from a young age, and after obtaining high school, she surprised her family by joining the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, and when they found out about her, she deluded them that she had joined the art criticism department, not acting.
Souad was not aware of her comic potential, and she played a tragic role in the play “Yassin and Bahia” directed by Karam Mutawa at the institute’s stage. For 9 years, she participated in small tragic roles, and was distinguished in the films “Apartment in the Downtown”, “The Savage” and “Hamam Al-Malatili”. “,” and “deadly jealousy.”
Her real beginning was when she participated in the series “The Million’s Journey” and her name shined as a comedian, and her comic scenes in this work continued to be stuck in the minds of the audience.
She was distinguished in the second part of the same series, “Sunbul after a Million,” and the five parts of the series “Diary of Wanis,” as well as in the play “The Barbarian” and the movie “Here is Cairo.”
The audience does not forget Souad, the character of Juha’s wife, which she presented in Ramadan 2003 with Yahya Al-Fakharani in the series “Juha”, which belongs to the political comedy.
Souad participated in 30 films starring senior directors from different generations, and starred in dozens of series to which she added her comedic touches.
