The exit door is not for this time. The government has offered “end-of-crisis” solutions to suspended health workers in Guadeloupe due to their refusal to be vaccinated. In vain, said Joël Mathurin, chief of staff of the foreign minister Jean-François Carenco, on Thursday.
“According to data from the regional health authority, there are 221 people [soignants, personnels administratifs et libéraux] who are interested in the area ”, he specified, including“ 93 people from the CHU ”. Suspended and without salary for more than a year, these caregivers are asking for reinstatement in their establishments, with regular PCR tests in place of the Covid-19 vaccine, rejected by the Ministry of Health.
Departures “minimum 40,000 euros”
On a visit to Guadeloupe, Joël Mathurin offered the unions an “exceptional starting plan” with higher contractual resolutions, multiplying “by three the compensation offered by the classic scales”. Departures “will be at a minimum of 40,000 euros”, he assured him. Just think of “the retraining of these people who are not in line with the needs of their profession”.
“We will also allow to take early retirement by making the financial provisions widely flexible”, explained the emissary of the ministry, adding that these provisions would apply to “everyone” in Guadeloupe. But, he complained, “the union’s response was an end to inadmissibility.”
Shortly before in the afternoon, the “collective of the warring organizations” had declared in a letter “ready to start a negotiation process” with a view to the “reintegration” of all the personnel concerned, but had previously refused to “negotiate dismissal processes” .
