Unusual things while walking in the Mournes

Apart from myself the Mourne Mountains have some unusual sights and historical features which many hikers don’t know about. For example the 16 k tunnel blasted through Slieve Binnian , which was built using string and candels . The German ww2 fighter lying on the slopes of Slieve commedagh , the brandy pad that ran through the upper mournes where wives were exchanged for smuggled brandy and the devils throne on top of Slieve Bernagh . Bored with Emmerdale , no GAA or the evening pint . Come along for an evenings craic on the Mourne hills
