What is the principle of this race?
For the participants, it will be a question of taking care not to spill the contents of the tray (bottles, coffee cup, glasses, etc.), at the risk of having penalty seconds added to their journey time.
What will the route be?
The participants, equipped with a furnished tray, will set off from the Place des Halles for a course of approximately 2 km. “The difficulty this year will be to go down the stairs of the Saint-François mound and go up the rue Saint-Pierre”, explains Nathalie Casalinho, business developer at Vitrines C’Chartres, an association of shopkeepers in the city center. . The finish, also at Place des Halles, will take place under a large arch, where a giant stopwatch, provided by Pro Timing, will be placed.
“The idea is to stick as closely as possible to the image of the waiter on duty. The race marshals will have to ensure that the participants do not run or hold their plate with both hands.

Who can participate in this race?
All professionals in the catering sector working in the Chartres Métropole sector can participate in this event. “What’s nice about this race is the challenge aspect, whether it’s between staff from the same restaurant or from the same city. We had about fifty participants last year. We hope to double that this year. »
Prizes to be won before a national final
At stake, for the winners, various prizes and, above all, the possibility of participating in the national edition of the race, which will take place in Limoges (Haute-Vienne).
The winner of the first Chartres edition, Théo Bligand, came fourth in this national final in September:
