Untold VIP Zone entrepreneur’s shocking experience: “Kids ready money who are not shy about drawing a straight line to the table”

The sound from Not to be told has caused dissatisfaction among the residents of Cluj this year as well. Loud music and fireworks can be heard from all areas of Cluj, and the residents of Cluj want the festival to be moved outside the city.

Dozens of complaints have been submitted on the MyCluj platform in recent days since the Untold festival started in the city centre. The people of Cluj both complain about the loud music and the fireworks that were launched into the morning in the Cluj Arena area.

White nights for Cluj, during the Untold period

Most complaints come from the neighborhoods located on the hills (Zorilor, Bună Ziua, Europa, Făget), where Untold’s music is usually louder than in other parts of the city.

“Untold’s bass and drum volume is very high. We go through this stress every year. Are we really living in the times where we have to put up with this disrespect?? The windows of our houses literally shake, in the Europa region. We are people and we have small children, it is very frustrating! ”, complained a resident, on Friday night.

A resident of Cluj from Zorilor, said on Sunday morning: “Untold’s music can be heard very loudly even with the windows closed. I can’t sleep for 3 nights. Absolutely impossible.”

Many people from Cluj claim that the music was played louder than last year and that they had white nights since the festival started.

The people of Cluj suggest canceling the Untold program

Some people from Cluj suggest that the festival program starts earlier, so that it ends at 1-2 in the morning and not at 6 in the morning.

“In Zorilor, Calea Turzii area, Untold’s main stage can be heard well until 6 AM. It’s really hard to go 4 days with 2-3 hours of sleep per day. We have daily responsibilities to fulfill in addition to work. Why not start the program earlier and finish around 1-2-3am so we can get some rest too? I’ve been to a dozen festivals like this and I’ve never seen a single one that has this program. I understand that we should be tolerant, but the program is unstable and even a small compromise for the local people is not accepted”, points out another resident of Cluj .

The music and fireworks didn’t leave the inhabitants of the Europa area alone either. “My block is shaking. This is impossible! Stop the Untold,” demanded another resident.

Some want the festival to be moved outside the city

Other residents believe that the festival should be moved outside the town.

“Please turn the music down for the next few nights! Last year was great, I don’t know what happened this year, but I’m about 2 km from Cluj Arena and it’s like I’m there! ” wrote a Cluj resident from Zorilor district.

From the neighborhood of Bună Ziua, another resident of Cluj said: “Good evening, this is the second night that the music is too loud because of the Untold festival. I don’t think it’s right to have music so loud all night. Please take a stand in solving the problem. Thank you.”

Another resident, also from the Europa area, was disturbed by the high level and the late fireworks: “Why does it have to be increased significantly after 2 in the morning and fireworks” to follow? Some are going to work the next day, they have no direct benefit from this concert that closes and shuts down an important part of the city.”

The people of Cluj in the central areas, such as Gruia and Gară, were also affected. “The music at Fèis Untold is disturbing. He can’t sleep!”.

Local authorities, called to action

The mayor and local authorities are asked to take measures to respect public peace and prevent the discomfort created by the festival. “It’s 3:00 in the morning and Untold’s music comes on. Is there really no respect for the law of public peace in this city?”, asked another resident.

Complaints are still flowing, and the people of Cluj are waiting for solutions so that they can have peaceful nights in their own homes at least in the coming years. The 2024 edition of Untold will end on Sunday with performances by Burna Boy, Martin Garrix, Macanache or Puya.

Sound problems in other years too

We remind you that this is not the first time that some people from Cluj have complained about the excessive noise made by the Untold festival in the city, during the night. In 2017, in the first two days of the festival, dozens of complaints were registered at the town hall and at the local police station because of the zogomoto.

That was the response from the organizers of Untold recorded sound it was within normal limits.

At that time, the people of Cluj drew up a petition, with which they asked to move the festival outside the city.

According to the petition, “The festival limits the right to the city of the residents and those who work here, by abusing public spaces (parks and parking lots), unnecessary obstruction of traffic and noise pollution for several days”.

Despite the complaints and the petition, Untold SRL was fined by DSP with 5,000 lei, the minimum given by law. The values ​​recorded by the DSP were 48.4 decibels to 48.8 decibels, compared to the permitted value of 30 decibels.
