“Untold: The Remarkable Career and Private Life of Messi” – An Apple Docuseries

According to Deadline, the untitled Apple docuseries about Messi is on the one hand an outline of the impressive career to be the exceptional footballer. On the other hand, it probably also offers some Insights into private life Argentinians.

One focus is probably on Messi’s participation in the World Cup. The four-part documentary shows his career from his first game with the Argentine national team, in which he was sent off the field with a red card after a few minutes, to his early retirement in 2016 and the 2022 World Cup triumph in Qatar. Messi tells in part well very emotional interviews of the most important moments of his career, but also gives intimate insights into his private life. In addition to the football star, teammates, coaches, competitors, fans and commentators also have their say.

The documentary series was shot in Argentina, Paris and Qatar. The Apple production follows Messi from the training ground, the press conferences and games to his private room. It is produced by Tim Pastore (“Free Solo”), Patrick Milling-Smith (“Semper Fi”), Brian Carmody (“The Drifters”), Matt Renner (“Ohne Limits mit Chris Hemsworth”), Jon Henion (“Welcome to Wrexham”) and Juan Camilo Cruz (“In Her Hands”).

It is not yet known when the documentary series about Lionel Messi will appear on Apple TV+.
