Until when can I recategorize myself to pay less for electricity in Córdoba

Last Tuesday, the Government of Córdoba launched a “recategorization” plan for all residential users of the Córdoba Provincial Energy Company (Epec) and also of the interior cooperatives.

The objective is to mitigate the impact of rate increases due to the increase in energy costs at the national level. To this end, Martín Llaryora’s management seeks to ensure that those who do not receive subsidies, or whose economic situation has changed in recent months, can pay less.

As will be remembered, in mid-2022, the government of Alberto Fernández launched the Registry of Access to Energy Subsidies (Rase) that divided society into three categories: N1 (the one with the highest income, which would not receive more subsidies); the N2 (lower classes, which receive higher subsidies) and the N3 (the middle class, with lower subsidies than the N2).

That registration, which was personal and required a digital procedure, did not give the expected results and in Córdoba more than 40% of Epec users and 45% of the cooperatives remained in the N1 segment.

Consumption

Rates. Epec launched a recategorization plan: what residential users should do to pay less

From the Province, they understand that many people stayed there not because their income was high (today they should be greater than $2,706,847), but because they did not register (because there were people who did not know how to do it, or because to buy dollars they had to give up al Rase) and automatically became part of that segment.

The new campaign seeks to get the people of Córdoba to review their situation with respect to subsidies and, if their economic situation makes them beneficiaries, to register in the Rase or to “recategorize” themselves by moving to a category with greater benefits.

The date

As explained by Epec, the request is that the recategorization be done before May 15 because that will be the first date before the next invoice. It is insisted on doing so before the 15th of each month, which is the day on which the national registry of subsidies closes.

“What was worth $22,000 in January, in February became worth $44,000 and if the increase already announced (by the Nation) occurs in May, it will become worth $90,000. This will begin to be seen in the consumption that begins to arrive within 15 days,” added López, in reference to the bills that arrive in the first days of May.

For this reason, he explained: “If all the people of Córdoba begin to review their situation and register before May 20, which is when the cut is made to determine who are N1, N2 or N3 (in the Nation), when they receive the bill In June they will probably already be recategorized and could have a bill more in line with the evolution of their income.”

In addition, López “urged” everyone to review the category in which they are registered and, if necessary, modify it.

“And we invite those who have not registered to complete the process,” explained the minister.

Regarding that, he said that in the coming days, users who have N1 status will receive a WhatsApp or email with useful information and recommendations to start counseling.

The initiative of the Government of the Province of Córdoba reaches both EPEC users and households that receive the supply through the 204 cooperatives that provide the service throughout the province.

From Epec, President Claudio Puértolas indicated that “assistance to users will be addressed, with advice and support in all sectors, in each city and town in the interior of the Province.”

To this he added that “we will work together with the municipalities to support this initiative. In the city of Córdoba we will have teams that provide support and advice in CPC, Neighborhood centers and commercial service centers.”

How to carry out the procedure

To begin the recategorization process, citizens must enter www.argentina.gob.ar/subsidios and select the green box that indicates “Complete the Registration form.”

In three simple steps, they will be able to upload the required information, after preparing documents such as the electricity bill, DNI, CUIL number of each member of the household over 18 years of age, amount of out-of-pocket income of each member over 18 years of age. and an email address.

1) The first step is to accept that the information provided is an affidavit and complete all the requested information.

2) Then, proceed to the second step, where the information about the electric energy service is entered, including uploading screenshots of the contract number and meter present on the invoice.

3) Finally, in the third step, the details of the household are entered accurately and the application is submitted. Upon completing this process, a management number will be assigned and a proof of the form can be downloaded in PDF.

It is essential to emphasize that if citizens have already completed this procedure previously and have experienced changes in their data, they must enter “Modify or delete the request” to correct the information.

In addition, actions have been implemented to facilitate the recategorization of residential electricity users.

Face-to-face care centers

In the coming days, service stations will be available in the Epec Commercial Service Centers and in the municipalities, as well as groups of neighborhoods grouped together by proximity in Córdoba Capital.

Communication will be carried out through SMS/Whatsapp and local media.
