Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Apple’s business plummeted in Q1 2023. Its overall revenue fell 5% year over year (YoY) to US$117.2 billion.
Specifically for iPhone sales, revenue fell 8% YoY. The iPhone 14 series is the culprit, because the production of these cellphones was hampered due to Covid-19 in China. In addition, the economic slowdown has also reduced people’s purchasing power.
Responding to this, Apple did not remain silent. The Cupertino manufacturer seems to want to boost sales with a discount strategy. The iPhone 14 series, which was just released about 4 months ago, suddenly lowered prices in several countries, including India and Indonesia.
CNBC Indonesia’s monitoring, Monday (6/2/2023) on the iBox website, prices for several variants of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max fell to IDR 1 million. Here’s more.
