Unsettled Weather: Showers and Storms Expected Tonight and Tomorrow

Temperatures in Washington D.C. struggled to warm up for much of the day, but eventually reached the near-80 to mid-80s range for highs. However, clouds and showers throughout the day helped keep temperatures from rising too much, except in areas where the sun made a more prominent appearance in the late afternoon. The rising humidity added a sticky feeling to the air, which is expected to continue tonight and tomorrow. As a result, there is a risk of a few rounds of showers and storms over the next day.

Tonight, there may be a couple of showers and storms in the late evening, with a better chance of precipitation arriving pre-dawn as storms from the north move towards the area while weakening. Lows are expected to be near or above 70 degrees, and there is a possibility of patchy fog developing, especially in areas where it rains.

Looking ahead to tomorrow (Friday), more showers and storms are expected to roam near sunrise, although they are not expected to be too intense. However, if the timing is right, they might wake some people up. Temperatures will be near or above 90 degrees as skies clear up a bit. The humidity will make it feel even hotter, with the heat index reaching the mid-90s or higher. There could also be a few additional late-day storms, some of which could be strong.
