“Through this press release it is conveyed that the person in question has been temporarily removed from the position of prosecutor and withdrawn to the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office for a supervisory examination,” said the Head of the Criminal Investigation and Law Office of the Attorney General’s Office Ketut Sumedana in a written press statement, Sunday (14/5/2023).
Ketut said Attorney General ST Burhanuddin ordered EKT to be prosecuted and given an appropriate punishment if proven guilty. The Attorney General, said Ketut, always appealed to all of his staff not to mess around with handling any cases, including committing disgraceful acts.
“If the person concerned is proven to have committed a crime, then according to the Attorney General’s order, the person will be prosecuted and given an appropriate punishment,” said Ketut.
Ketut said Attorney General Burhanuddin asked that this case not be covered up. Burhanuddin, said Ketut, will not tolerate prosecutors who commit irregularities.

Elementary School Teacher Claims to Be Extorted by Prosecutors
An elementary school teacher in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra (North Sumatra), Sarlita, admitted that he was blackmailed by a prosecutor from the Batu Bara District Attorney’s Office (Kejari). Sarlita admits that she was blackmailed by the prosecutor with the initials EK regarding her son’s drug case.

The alleged extortion started when Sarlita’s son, M Rizki Renaldi (25), was arrested on suspicion of drug possession on January 12, 2023. With the help of his neighbors, Sarlita was connected to EK.
It was from here that Sarlita was extorted for her child’s case. Of the total IDR 80 million requested, Sarlita gave the money in installments up to a total of IDR 35 million. Thomy Faisal, Sarlita’s attorney, explained that at first his client was blackmailed.
“In short, it started with our client’s child being accused of possessing drugs when he was riding with his friend. Even though our client’s child did not know anything about the drugs. He was only traveling with his friend and the drugs were also obtained (officers) from his friend,” said Thomy Faisal.
