The paradise Costa Brava in Spain is now thrown into a wave of unrest and conflict, as nudists raise the alarm about disrespect for their naked culture.
Over a period of 50 years, Spanish nudists have had their own sanctuary tradition, where they could enjoy the sun’s warmth without so much as a thread on their bodies.
But now more and more people feel harassed by the tourists who settle down on the beaches wearing bikinis and speedos.
– Before, people would come to the beach and either undress or go. Now they are sitting there wearing swimwear, and we feel really uncomfortable. It borders on a lack of respect.
Nudist and spokesman for the Spanish region of Catalonia, Segimon Rovira, says so The Guardianwho mentioned the case first.

A “textile invasion”
There are approximately 50 other nudist beaches that are also open to the public along the Costa Brava. Nudists have thus previously been able to enjoy sunny days without any disturbances.
Now this peaceful atmosphere is threatened by what the nudists call a “textile invasion”.
They therefore felt obliged to send a letter of complaint to the Catalan government in which they ask to be heard.
The complaint focuses on the alleged “discrimination” that nudists believe they experience on the region’s beaches.

– The women are harassed
A main reason for this turbulent development is that the nudist trends were previously almost secret. Now, however, they are being exposed by bloggers, among others, who refer to the stands as exotic attractions on social media.
The problem is that new visitors seem far less interested in the naked culture, according to the spokesperson.
– Unfortunately, the women are usually stared at or harassed more, says Rovira to the newspaper.
The nudists hope that their complaint will lead to a change so that they can enjoy sunny days in peace.
