The American studio Monolith Productions is probably mostly associated with the FEAR series and two parts of the brand Middle-Earth with the subtitles Shadow of Mordor and Shadow of War. Even before the trip to Middle-earth, the studio spent some time was working on a Batman game in the main role. Gameplay footage from this project has recently surfaced online, showing a work-in-progress version of the game. A user with a nickname SpideyRangerwho released the materials, states that the title was codenamed Project Apollo.
In terms of genre, it was supposed to be a traditionally tuned action from a third-person perspective. In addition to implementing a number of batman gadgets, the developers were reportedly already working on the well-known Nemesis system , which became a hallmark of the aforementioned Middle-Earth series. We do not know the exact reason for the cancellation of the game. However, it is rumored that Warner Bros. it gave preference to titles from Rocksteady, while it subsequently gave the Lord of the Rings license to developers from Monolith.
