9 MATTHEWS Michael FROM TEAM SUNWEB SUN 11 ’24 ”+00′ 42”

15.19 A round minute of delay from Ganna for his teammate Geoghegan Hart.
15.17 The Shark of the Strait Vincenzo Nibali has left!
15.13 4’55 “in the intermediate for Geoghegan Hart.
15.08 Tao Geoghegan Hart (Ineos) and Alberto Rui Costa (UAE Team Emirates) also took to the streets.
15.03 Excellent performance by Van der Poel, who closed at 46 ″ from Ganna.
14.58 Comparing with past editions, on the same route as the time trial in San Benedetto del Tronto, in 2019 Victor Campenaerts won the stage scoring a time of 11’23 “, in 2018 Rohan Dennis finished in 11’14 “And in 2017 11’18”. In 2016 and 2015, when Fabian Cancellara scored, the Swiss champion finished respectively in 11’08 “and 11’23”.
Today Ganna became the protagonist of a real RECORD closing in 10’42 ”. Space is an understatement.
14.55 Van der Poel’s intermediate test was excellent, at the level of specialists.
14.50 The winner of yesterday’s stage Mathieu Van der Poel (Alpecin Fenix) starts.
14.46 Exactly one hour left before the start of the race leader Simon Yates.
14.42 11’22 “and 40” late from Ganna for another specialist like Jan Tratnik (Bahrain McLaren).
14.36 The only man who could worry Ganna is his teammate Geraint Thomas, who will use this time trial to try to recover the 39 ″ that divide him from Simon Yates for the conquest of this Tirreno-Adriatico.
14.32 Monstrous data from today’s test of the Freccia Tricolore Filippo Ganna:

14.29 Excellent performance by the Swedish Tobias Ludvigsson (Groupama-FDJ), fourth at the finish in 11’15 “, 44” from Ganna.
14.24 The world champion Rohan Dennis really lost a lot in the second part of the test, also committing a very serious mistake by passing on the side of the road, already seen in the morning, where there were holes. There he lost a lot of precious time, but he probably wouldn’t have been able to beat our Filippo Ganna anyway, protagonist of a simply spectacular stage.
14.20 Here is the new virtual top ten of the San Benedetto del Tronto time trial:

14.14 Jos Van Emden (Jumbo-Visma) definitely delayed compared to expectations! Third at 39 ″ from Ganna.
14.11 Nothing to do for Campenaerts! Second at 18 ″ from Ganna. The only one who can counter the Verbanese is his teammate Rohan Dennis.

13.51 The standard bearer of the INEOS Grenadiers is clearly in the lead, it will be difficult to override him. 56,636 km / h is its average speed.
13.50 DEVASTATING FILIPPO GANNA! 10’42 “, 48” better than Brandle. The Italian champion found a sensational time.
13.47 FILIPPO GANNA! TEMPONE! Intermediate 4’30 “, 18” on the second. The Italian champion is devastating.
13.44 Edoardo Affini is fourth at the finish, 4 ”from the top.
13.41 Nothing to do for Craddock and Bodnar, 2 “and 4” late at the finish. Always Brandle in the lead.
13.40 Similar best time in the middle!
13.38 Filippo Ganna will leave shortly.
13.35 Two men for the victory at INEOS Grenadiers: Ganna and Dennis.

13.32 Craddock is also attacked in Bodnar in the intermediate.
13.29 In the meantime, the best intermediate for the Polish Bodnar: 2 ”ahead of Brandle.
13.26 Very high time for Dowsett.
13.24 In about ten minutes Edoardo Affini (Mitchelton-SCOTT) will start, Italy hopes in him, as well as in Ganna, for a possible stage success that has not yet arrived in this Corsa dei due Mari.
13.20 The British Dowsett is close to Brandle in the intermediate. 5 “late.
13.17 Given the quality of the Austrian time trial champion, his could already be a reference time. We are almost sure, however, that we can do better.
1.15pm 11.30am (52.696 km / h) Brandle’s time at the finish.
13.12 Brandle, who is currently leading the first intermediate, will soon reach the finish line.

Hello everyone and welcome to ours LIVE LIVE of the eighth and last stage of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2020. They will only be 10 kilometers that the riders will have to face today, in one individual time trial which will dictate the definitive sentence of this edition of the Corsa dei due mari, with departure and arrival in the city of San Benedetto del Tronto.
This test against time will take place on a path that largely follows the final circuit of the final stages of the late 90s and 2000s, as well as the same since 2015. The starting platform is placed in viale Tamerici (South bank). Then we will proceed towards Port of Ascoli along the Adriatic Sea, where, in Piazza Salvo d’Acquisto, will be marked on intermediate timekeeping (km 4.7). We will continue for about 750 meters before climbing up to San Benedetto del Tronto, where the race will end at the traditional finish line of viale Buozzi. At 2.5 kilometers from the finish a double curve will lead to the long finish straight.
For the stage win, the super favorite is definitely the world champion of time trials Rohan Dennis (Ineos Grenadiers); for the Australian this could be the first personal seal after the Yorkshire World Cup, and close to the 2020 World Championship in Imola. The number one opponent will be the Belgian Victor Campenaerts (NTT), returning from months that are not too positive, but where he has always and in any case tried to defend himself in his specialty. Among the candidates for the stage victory there is also Jos Van Emden (Jumbo-Visma). Casa Italia will drop its best pair with the national champion of time trials Filippo Ganna (Ineos Grenadiers), and then Edoardo Affini (Mitchelton-Scott).
For the conquest of this Tirreno-Adriatico 2020, the current leader Simon Yates (Mitchelton-Scott) is in command of the general with only 16 ″ on the Pole Rafal Majka (Bora-Hansgrohe), who, however, barring unexpected surprises, will start clearly at a disadvantage compared to Yates himself, who however is not at all firm in this type of tests. The most credited for trying the all out in a tightrope turnaround, is Geraint Thomas (Ineos Grenadiers). But be careful, because the British still has 39 ″ to recover from his compatriot, and it will not be easy to recover so much in just 10 kilometers.
OA Sport offers you the text LIVE LIVE of the eighth and last fraction of the Tirreno-Adriatico 2020 from 12.00, to not miss a second of this final time trial of the Race of the two seas. Have fun!
