School holidays in DKI Jakarta, Banten, and West Java (Jabar) have been extended for three days. The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud-Ristek) said the extension of the school holiday period was given to help unravel the backflow bottleneck Eid 2022.
“The Ministry of Education and Research and Technology responded positively to the results of coordination with the Ministry of Transportation regarding joint efforts to help unravel congestion during the return flow of Lebaran 2022, especially in the Jabodetabek area,” said Acting Head of the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology Cooperation and Public Relations Bureau, Anang Ristato when asked for confirmation, Thursday (4/4). /5/2022).
Anang said his party coordinated with the DKI, West Java, and Banten Provincial Governments to postpone the school entry schedule. Students in the three provinces will only start school on May 12, 2022.
“For this reason, the Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology will follow up by coordinating with the Provincial Governments of DKI Jakarta, West Java and Banten to provide flexibility in adding three days of school holidays until May 12, 2022,” he said.
Anang explained, then the provincial government will coordinate with the government in their respective districts/cities. He said this decision is still being socialized.
“Furthermore, the provincial government has coordinated with the district/city governments in their respective regions. This decision will be socialized by the regional government to be implemented properly,” added Anang.
