“Unpri Medan Police Search: 5 Bodies Found on Campus, Latest Updates”

– Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prima Indonesia University (Unpri) Medan, Colonel Drg Susanto, regretted that members of the Medan Police had a lack of coordination when carrying out a search at Unpri Medan on Monday (11/12/2023).

The search was related to a viral video which stated that two bodies were found on the ninth floor of one of the buildings at Unpri Medan.

During the search, the police found not two, but five bodies on the 15th floor of the building.

However, Unpri Medan later explained that the five bodies were cadavers or corpses used by Unpri medical students for anatomy practicum.

Susanto said that the police did not involve campus leaders during the search.

“At night, (they) insisted on a search on the Unpri campus. For your information, at night there were no officers who could accompany them, but they forced their way in and the security guard (was forced) to give permission to search and nothing was found at that time ,” said Susanto via video which was confirmed by Kompas.com, Wednesday (13/12/2023).

Susanto said, the next day or on Tuesday 12 December 2023, the police again carried out searches from morning to evening. Officers then found five bodies.

The five bodies were then removed from their place for examination, then returned to the cadaver tank.

“What we really regret is that on December 12 2023, there was an order to vacate the campus. Even though at that time permission had been given for an inspection. With this order, the campus objected because at that time the practical lecture and exam learning process was underway,” said he.

Previously it was reported that information was circulating regarding the discovery of two bodies in a water tank on the ninth floor of the campus on Monday (11/12/2023).

This information came from a video spread in WhatsApp groups.

However, the campus refused to allow the police to arrive and asked the officers to ask permission from the Head of the Medan District Court.

Even though they were refused, the police still entered the building and went straight to the location where the two bodies were allegedly found.

However, the ninth floor of the building has been cleaned, including the water tank where the body is thought to be no longer visible.
