Unpredictable Changes on “Farmen” Raises Questions and Confusion among Participants

Autumn’s second “Farmen” week is underway. On Sunday, it was Diana Rooz (30) who narrowly lost the duel against Sebastian Eide (33) and who thus had to set course for “Torpet”.

– Very sad

As early as Tuesday, two new participants must make the trip to the small side farm.

– Complete confusion

Towards the end of Sunday’s episode, the viewers saw that the “Farm” participants received a letter with information about who will be the big farmer next week. The letter also stated that two of the remaining participants must travel to another farm to help – whereupon it is uncertain whether they will be allowed to return to “The Farm” at a later date.

– Near death nine times

Bent Inge Høiland Rundevold (28) and Charlotte Tigerstedt (53) volunteered to carry out the “assignment”. Little did they know that they are not allowed to return to “The Farm” unless they win “Torpet”.

According to Dagbladet’s knowledge, Rundevold in particular must have reacted strongly to the consequences of what they have embarked on.

– When we received this letter, we were left with many questions. After all, we didn’t know what this dispute meant and kept walking and waiting for them to come back. There was complete confusion, and it led to us being unsure of which dispute could appear after the next duel, says a participant to Dagbladet.

To Dagbladet, presenter Niklas Baarli (34) says that he himself has not been involved in introducing this particular move.

– But I think it’s about making the program a little more unpredictable. The letter states that it is uncertain whether one will return to the farm at all. At the same time, the participants are informed that it will be a season with many changes. That it is wise to be on guard, says the presenter.

This is TV 2’s reply after changes

– How did the two participants who took this on react when it dawned on them that they could not return to “The Farm”?

– I wasn’t there at the time, and never got to see their reactions with my own eyes. But I have heard that Bent Inge was unhappy with the outcome. I hope that he still has a nice stay at “Torpet”.

TV 2: – Didn’t know anything

Dagbladet has asked TV 2’s press manager, Jan-Petter Dahl, a number of questions about the unconventional move, which clearly provoked reactions among several on the farm. The channel has no answer as to why they put the participants in such a situation completely out of the blue.

– In “The Farm”, disputes happen at irregular intervals that neither the participants nor the viewers are prepared for, says Dahl, who continues:

– The participants who volunteer in this case check in at “Torpet”, and must stay there either until they run out or until they fight their way back to “The Farm”. The contestants knew nothing about where they were going when they left the farm, and everyone will see how they react throughout the season.

It is known from the outset that the channel has made several changes to modernize the concept. Program manager Baarli thinks the changes are “fresh”, and that they have had the effect the production was hoping for.

– It was time to do something. I think many people who go to “The Farm” are so used to the concept that they largely know what will happen. It’s nice to shake it up a bit, he says to Dagbladet.
