According to the person who likes astronomy, Karol Wójcicki, the author of the blog “With your head in the stars”, due to the unusually high activity of the upper parts of the aurora, it was visible not – only in northern European countries, but also much further south, including in Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
“To make you aware of the seriousness of the situation, I will only write that in 11 years of observing the aurora borealis in the Arctic for an average of two months each year, so far I have not seen the blue aurora but once. For me, this phenomenon is a bit like the White Raven aurora,” wrote Wójcicki in social media.
Amazing aurora seen from space
The aurora was also visible from space. It was captured by astronauts on the SpaceX Dragon Endeavor spacecraft. “This is the view from the window tonight… I miss my family and friends, but we would have missed the crazy aurora today if we had stopped today,” wrote one of the participants mission
He attached a photo to the entry showing a colorful aurora borealis.
