Unpause the AYA: new foundation wants better care for young adults with cancer

Every year, cancer puts the busy lives of nearly 4,000 young adults on hold. For these people, also called AYAs – Adolescents and Young Adults – the care is not always optimal: it is often aimed at young children, or at the elderly. That has to change, according to the AYA Jong & Kanker Foundation. This week they are launching the campaign Unpause the AYA† Kim Gringhuis-Ottens is ambassador and founder of the foundation. She is a guest at Humberto’s.
