Unopened 4GB first-generation iPhone is extremely rare, the auction price is 1.24 million breaking records-ePrice.HK

For Apple collectors, the unopened original iPhone is a fantasy, and the unopened 4GB version of the original iPhone may be the ceiling. The moderator shared the news that the auction house LCG Auctions auctioned the unopened 4GB first-generation iPhone at the end of June. After about half a month and 28 bids, the auction finally ended yesterday (July 16).

The initial response to the auction was mediocre

In February this year, an unopened 8GB original iPhone sold for US$63,000 (approximately HK$492,065), breaking the auction record for the highest unopened original iPhone in history at that time. Now the record has been broken again. The unopened 4GB first-generation iPhone was auctioned on June 30 with a reserve price of US$10,000. During the period, the response was mediocre. After staying at US$41,776 on July 13, no one has bid.

change in the last two hours

Buyers who originally intended to bid stayed until the final stage to make a bid. About two hours before the closing of the bid, buyers made multiple moves to push the price to break through the US$100,000 mark, and finally sold at US$158,644 (approximately HK$1,239,097). Together with the commission and handling fees of the auction house, the total amount that buyers need to pay is as high as US$190,373 (approximately HK$1,486,918).

It is extremely rare to lead to a new transaction record

The 4GB version of the original iPhone, introduced on June 29, 2007, is even rarer than the 8GB version, as Apple offered the 8GB version shortly after the 4GB version, and the price difference between the two was only $100, making the 4GB version unsalable , Apple even announced the discontinuation on September 5, just two months after its launch. The production of the 4GB version is already very small, and it is even rarer to have it unopened and packaged in perfect condition, so it also attracts collectors to compete for record high prices.
