Fresh price overview:

Uno-X pushes charging prices down. Now charging at Uno-X costs the same as at Tesla.

At Uno-X’s currently 19 charging stations, it now costs on average DKK 3.76/kWh to charge. The average price at Tesla’s 111 stations, which are open to everyone, is now NOK 3.58/kWh outside peak hours, and NOK 3.96/kWh during peak hours, which are during the hours when charging is normally highest in the afternoon/evening. It shows the latest price overview from Tesla owner club TOCN.

This means that in practice charging at Tesla and Uno-X now costs the same.

– We want to be competitive on price, says a satisfied Jens Haugland, general manager of Uno-X Norway.

– Must follow

The price differences between the stations are large, both at Tesla and at Uno-X. Uno-X charges from NOK 2.50 to 4.50/kWh, while the charging price at Tesla varies from NOK 2.75 to 4.65/kWh (outside peak hours).

Jens Haugland at Uno-X will not reveal exactly why Uno-X acts like Tesla, and has such different prices.

– We want to be competitive in the markets we are in, and the customers must follow along, he says.

The other charging operators have similar prices at their stations.

1 penny

Tesla owners, and non-Tesla owners who pay a subscription of NOK 129 a month, charge at a lower price at Tesla’s charging stations. The price difference is now just over NOK per kilowatt-hour between subscription and non-subscription.

The average price for Tesla owners and Tesla subscriptions is now NOK 2.51/kWh outside peak hours, and NOK 2.79/kWh during peak hours.

An amusing point is that Uno-X at two stations, at Raufoss and in Sandnes, charges NOK 2.50/kWh.

That is one penny less than the average price for Tesla owners at all Tesla stations. It is now NOK 2.51/kWh outside peak hours, according to the latest price overview which Tesla’s owner club has performed.

Far behind

Uno-X is leading a price war on charging, but the other charging operators are currently far behind.

Eviny and E.On are the cheapest of the others, while Circle K has by far the highest charging price, shows charging prices Motor obtained on 27 October.

Prices for lightning charging for unregistered customers (which is equivalent to charging at Tesla without a subscription):

Eviny NOK 4.99/kWh

E.On 5 kr/kTue

Connect NOK 5.89/kWh

Recharge and more DKK 5.99/kWh

Circle K DKK 6.89/kWh

(Recharge has 50 øre lower prices in central and northern Norway).
