Unmarried, Indian conglomerate inherited IDR 1.8 T for dog from brother

Jakarta

Conglomerate Ratan Tata died on Thursday (10/10/2024) at the age of 86 years. The former chairman of the Tata Group is known as one of the richest people in India who unfortunately does not marry or have children. Because of this, the wealth and assets he left behind are discussed. Reports say that Ratan was unwilling to give it to the family.

Ratan Tata reportedly left assets worth $118 million or approximately IDR 1.8 trillion. Her legacy is also in doubt as Ratan has no family. Reported by DailyMail, Ratan has bequeathed most of his wealth to his beloved dog named Tito. He wanted to ensure that his pet continued to live peacefully even without Ratan’s presence.

The deceased was an animal lover. Before that, this man had made a policy at the company so that security personnel would not abuse street animals. So, it was natural that Ratan prioritized dogs in his will.

A close friend of Ratan Tatan revealed that all this money would not be given to dogs. However, it is said that the allowance for dogs is greater than for their brothers. The businessman also set aside several shares for the people closest to him, such as his house help and the personal chef who had been taking care of him.

“He has made very generous arrangements for them. They will not work again and they will look after them well,” said Ratan.

For the rest of his life, Ratan, who had no children or wife, was only with pets and books in his house. It is known that he had two beloved dogs before he breathed his last, namely Tito and Tango. In India, it is very common to bring animals and servants into the estate.

Ratan is not the only person who has bequeathed wealth to animals. Before that, a woman in China named Liu even said that she left 20 million yuan (Rp. 44 billion) for pets instead of her own children.
