“Jet streams from black holes throw energy, magnetic fields and particles into the gaps between galaxies. It’s a mechanism for transporting magnetic fields from very, very small scales to very large scales,” says Martin Hardcastle, an astronomer at the University of Hertfordshire.

They know that magnetism goes through the cosmic web and then gets into galaxies, stars and finally planets.
The questions are where it starts, and whether large jet streams can play an important role in the distribution of magnetism through the cosmos.
