The camera is an important item as it is used in a few side quests and is also required to complete Hyrule Compendium , which relies on players taking pictures of various enemies scattered throughout Breath of the Wild 2vast landscapes. Search for the camera in the depths of the Kingdom’s Tears search
Players will not be able to open the camera app until they complete the tutorial area and find themselves back in the Overworld of Hyrule Kingdom. This involves collecting all the abilities in the Sky Islands area and then diving into terra firma again. Once players are back in Hyrule, they can continue the main quest (indicated by a golden circle) to reach a place called Landing lookout. There, they’ll meet an adult version of Purah and her young assistant, Josha, who will welcome Link with open arms and advance the main story by giving players the parachute. After this happens, Joshua will run to meet another assistant named Robbie.
Players must follow Joshua immediately and wait until she meets Robbie. There should be a small exclamation mark icon near her indicating that she has a side quest. If players interact with it, they will activate a cutscene and receive a file Camera mission ‘work in depth’. Once players have this mission, they need to make sure it is active by going to the mission history (pressing the minus button on the controller) and activating it. Once activated, a golden circular mission marker will appear and lead players out of Lookout Landing and into a large, dark-filled fissure in the ground.

Ruby’s Path is indicated by a group of campfires and players will need to follow these fires, navigating through the darkness until they finally reach the Forbidden World. Along the way, players will spot large tower-like flowers called Lightroots that they can interact with. These towering structures emit a soft green color and when touched will light up the surrounding area and unlock a fast travel point (as well as part of the Bathymetric Map).
Once players reach Ruby, he will instruct them to take a picture of a nearby statue, unlocking the Camera app to useas well as access Hyrule synopsis. Once players take a picture of the statue, they can Return to Lookout Landing and show Josha the picture to complete the task.
How to take pictures in Kingdom Tears
Once players have the camera app, they can use it to take pictures of whatever they want or find interesting during their travels. To access the camera, players simply need to press L and then use the wheel to select the camera icon. Once they’ve done this once, they can simply tap L to quickly bring up the camera (as long as they don’t choose another force to put it in). Once there, players can zoom in and out using the D-Pad and can also see information about items when they are in the viewfinder. To take a selfie, players can tap the X, which will rotate the camera in the direction of Link’s face. When taking a selfie, if players tilt the left joystick in different directions, Link will perform different poses.
