Several vehicles were stopped during traffic control in the area of Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven. Driving bans were issued because drivers were driving without a license or insurance.
Several driving bans in the Bremerhaven area
On Tuesday, October 15th, the police carried out extensive traffic controls in the area of Bremerhaven and Cuxhaven. A number of violations were found, which meant that affected road users were not allowed to continue their journey.
Unlicensed lorry drivers on the B71
Around 3pm, a 55-year-old truck driver from Bremerhaven was checked on the B71 near Loxstedt. It turned out that he did not have the necessary driving license. In addition, the trailer was not registered for road traffic. Legal proceedings were also initiated against the appellant who had commissioned the man.
Driving without a license and insurance
Just ten minutes later, at around 3:10 pm, a 28-year-old car driver from Bremerhaven was stopped on the A27 near Schwanewede. He also did not have a driving license and his car was not insured. The police stopped the license plates and obtained the registration certificate.
E-scooters without insurance
Meanwhile, a 27-year-old woman was stopped on an e-scooter in Neuenkirchen. It turned out that the car was not insured. Shortly after, around 3:30pm, a 38-year-old e-scooter driver was also stopped in Hemmoor. In addition to the lack of insurance coverage, he was under the influence of narcotics, which is why a blood sample was taken from him.
Implications and further studies
In all cases, investigations were initiated on driving without a license and lack of insurance. Especially in the case of e-scooter drivers, the police are concerned about the increasing number of violations in this area.
