This year’s event is titled “Unleash Digital”, which will bring together thousands of industry leaders, experts and partners in the fields of information and communication technologies (ICT) and of sustainable development from around the world to find out how all stakeholders can use digital productivity more effectively, promote Europe’s green and digital transition and build stronger digital ecosystems.
Leading Europe’s green and digital transition with digital technology
At the start of the event, Ken Hu, the rotating president of Huawei, with a keynote address. For him, there are three ways the ICT ecosystem can help overcome common barriers to digital transformation:
- Strengthening the digital infrastructure, including stronger connectivity and stronger and more diverse IT assets.
- Helping organizations move beyond just cloud adoption and get the best out of the cloud with a focus on advanced technology services to fuel the quantum leap.
- Building local digital ecosystems, including partner development, nurturing digital talent, and greater support for SMEs.
These three approaches to promoting digital transformation are closely linked to the European “digital decade” policy. “Huawei will continue to work closely with our partners in Europe to support the region’s digital and green transformation strategy,” said Hu. “We are committed to supporting Europe’s economic recovery and the success of its industry and to enabling sustainable development.”
During the event, a respected group of industry and political representatives presented their organizations’ main goals for promoting the digital and green transition in Europe and their experiences. These include Franc Bogovič, member of the European Parliament; Alain Assouline, President of the Digital Commission of the CPME (European Medical Association); José Donoso, President of Global Solar; Fabien Aufrichter, Web 3.0 Vice President von Vivendi; Gonzalo Elguezabal AyalaExecutive Director by AOTEC in Spain; and Victor Marçais, senior partner of Roland Berger.
“In Europe, for Europe”: Strengthening local industries and promoting digital talent
Developing digital skills and new ecosystems are key to Europe’s digital transformation. “To support the European industry in digitization,” continues HU, “we are working hard to build a robust, secure and resilient ICT infrastructure.
