As in the previous year, Daniel Yule won the World Cup slalom in Madonna di Campiglio. The Valais wins ahead of the Norwegian Henrik Kristoffersen and the French Clément Noël.
Yule, who had already led after the first run, is only the fourth Swiss with two World Cup victories in slalom. Dumeng Giovanoli, Pirmin Zurbriggen and Didier Plaschy had previously done this.
Tanguy Nef rounded off the memorable Swiss evening with 6th place. The Geneva student studying in the USA, who had surprised in eleventh place at the start of last winter in Levi, thus achieved a personal best result.
Sandro Simonet, who was the last to qualify for the second run, improved in the final by 18 ranks to 12th place. For the first time this winter, Marc Rochat also received World Cup points. Rochat ranked 19th at the same time as Loïc Meillard. Ramon Zenhaeuser came in after the second run after very good split times.
