Unknown Individuals Throw Stones at ICE Train in Baden-Württemberg – Second Incident This Week

OFFENBURG | For the second time this week, unknown people threw stones at an ICE train in Baden-Württemberg while it was traveling and smashed windows.

Two windows in two different wagons were shattered in the attack between Freiburg and Offenburg, but were not penetrated, the Offenburg Federal Police reported. The windows of the ICE 106 were temporarily masked in Lahr and the train then continued towards Karlsruhe, a spokesman said. Nobody got hurt; the amount of damage was initially unknown.

There had already been a similar incident on Tuesday, when two windows on the ICE 102 were also destroyed. “Now a very similar incident has happened on the same route,” said the federal police spokesman on Thursday. Officials have already driven to certain locations along the route to look for clues about the perpetrators.
