In the Pinakothek of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University “Prof. Dr. Asen Zlatarov”-Burgas, the new student newspaper of the University was solemnly presented.
The initiative is of students from all courses of the specialty “Bulgarian Philology” and it was actively supported by the Student Council of the University and its administrative leadership.
The young people themselves chose the name of their publication – “Fatum” and connected it with the slogan that will stand under each issue – “Fate loves the brave”.
The students’ initiative was congratulated by the Rector of the University, Prof. Dr. Hristo Bozov, MD. with wishes to continue with perseverance and talent the tradition of the university having its own student edition, which reflects the important and intriguing events of academic life.
At the celebration were also deputy. the rectors Prof. Irena Markovska and Associate Professor Svetlana Zheleva, many teachers and tutors, as well as a whole host of students from all majors.
“Fatum” is a wonderful continuation of the interrupted tradition of the university having its own publication, which began with the student newspaper “Studentsko oko” already when the University was founded 60 years ago and published for some time after the millennium the newspaper “Academic Voice”.
The history of university journalism was presented with a poster presentation prepared by the students and through the memories of one of the previous editors-in-chief of the publication, Tansel Gunai.
