The University of Nevada’s Digital Wolf Pack Initiative will provide all first year students with an iPad Air, accessories and training to ensure equal access to technology.
In total, the University of Nevada will provide the entire first-year class with a free iPad Air, Sensible Keyboard Folio and Apple Pencil to meet the “Digital Wolf Pack Initiative”. The iPad comes with a free suite of iWork apps that include Internet Pages, Keynote, and Quantities.
Apple will provide students with product, purpose, and coding training as part of its Apple Qualified Understanding program. Apple has already used this program to help educators during the pandemic by providing resources and educators by way of video programs and lectures.
Freshmen will receive their devices during “NevadaFIT,” the college’s orientation program for incoming students. It will be held from August 15 to 20.
Apple often works with schools at all levels of education to provide students with the tools and development necessary to succeed. Other school systems and universities are known to buy iPads in bulk and give them to students for use during the school year.
