The University of Nariño will carry out the COVID-19 test-taking day, an activity developed by the professor attached to the Department of Health Promotion, Anderson Rocha, the Student Health Unit and the Departmental Institute of Health.
This workshop is being supported by the project of Strengthening of the Molecular Engineering Laboratorya project financed with resources from the General System of Royalties in alliance with the Departmental Institute of Health of Nariño, this is a project that is led by the Center for Health Studies of the University of Nariño CESUN.
“The day of sampling for the detection of COVID-19 is an initiative of the Departmental Institute of Health of Nariño, an activity that is being carried out in different environments, on this occasion the University of Nariño was chosen for the sampling to the entire university community, teaching, worker and student establishment. It is vitally important to maintain control over COVID-19, although at this time the prevalence of this disease has decreased considerably and the viral load has been reduced, it is important to maintain reserves and knowledge of the epidemiological situation due to COVID-19”, mentioned the teacher Anderson Iván Rocha Buelvas.
The Alma Mater sees it necessary to create spaces conducive to prevention and care against this virus, it is for this reason that the Student Health Unit of the University of Nariño will be the space for the development of this activity. “With Professor Anderson Rocha attached to the Health Promotion program, the Departmental Institute of Health and the Student Health Unit have articulately called on the university community to join the special day of active search for COVID cases, it is quite true that the Departmental Institute of Health has been developing this type of event in other towns, the university population is not prioritized for taking, but in this case after the research project that professor Anderson Rocha is presenting, they have prioritized us, and I think it is very pertinent that this Tuesday, April 18, starting at 8:00 AM, we will massively convene the university community to identify these active cases of COVID in our community. This is how, from the Student Health Unit, we have our unit available with the interdisciplinary team of the Institute of Health to work together to make this event a success”, said Paolo Moncayo, Coordinator of the Student Health Unit of the University of Nariño.
