A student at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences at the University of Indonesia (UI) named Syahrul Amru (21) was found dead in a boarding room in the Beji area, Depok, West Java. Police said there were no injuries to the victim’s body.
“The results of the external examination by identification officers together with the Depok Metro Police Dokkes team showed no injuries on the victim’s body,” said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Police. Depok Inspector Made Budi in his statement, Friday (22/12/2023).
Made Budi said the victim was thought to have died two days before he was found decomposing. He said several types of drugs were found and the laptop was still alive.

“It is estimated that the victim died two days ago. Apart from that, Antangin medicine, Komix cough medicine, Strepsils candy and a laptop were found near the victim’s body,” he said.
The body has been evacuated to the National Police Hospital for an autopsy. Currently, the police are still investigating the case.
Syahrul Amru’s body was first discovered on Thursday (21/12) at 15.20 WIB. At that time, the victim’s neighbors found many flies around the victim’s boarding room.
“The resident of room 103, named H, informed us via video that there were lots of flies in front of room 104,” said Made Budi in his statement, Friday (22/12.
The witness and his friends then checked into the victim’s room through the window. At that time, it was found that the victim had died and was swollen and oozing fluid.
“When checking and processing the crime scene by identification officers from the Depok Metro Police, it was discovered that the victim had died lying on his back on the bed with his right leg hanging over the right side of the bed, his body was swollen, fluid was already leaking from his body under the bed,” he explained. .
