HUMBLE, Texas – The University of Houston Women’s Golf program is set to host the chevron Collegiate at the Golf Club of Houston. This highly anticipated two-day, 54-hole tournament kicks off Monday morning with 36 holes, followed by the final round on Tuesday morning. Golf enthusiasts are invited to attend, with admission being free to all spectators. The Cougars enter this tournament after a strong showing earlier this year, finishing fourth at the Collegiate individual at Guadalajara country Club in Mexico from Jan. 31-Feb. 1. Junior Moa Svedenskiold led the Cougars at the Collegiate Individual, opening the event with a stellar 68 and finishing fifth overall with a score of 3-under 216.

The university of Houston will be represented by a talented lineup of golfers, including junior Moa Svedenskiold, junior Alexa Saldana, senior Hyeonji Kang, junior Natalie Saint Germain, and sophomore Maelynn Kim. Svedenskiold leads the Cougars with a notable 71.29 scoring average this season and is tied with Kim for second with nine rounds of par or better. Play begins Monday at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start, with the second round following promptly. Economon begins play in the first group off No. 17, with Morales (second group off No. 17),Yates (first group off No. 18), and Ishiyama (second group off No. 18) following.
