Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) – Before students talked to Prime Minister Winfried Kretschmann, the state student representatives complained about the sometimes precarious situation of the prospective academics in the Corona crisis. “Many students are still in serious financial distress,” said Andreas Bauer, a member of the Presidium of the Mannheim University of Applied Sciences. “The political and media attention was mainly focused on the schools and less on the students.” The economic and academic disadvantages of the students were hardly discussed, said Bauer before the so-called study summit of the head of government on Thursday.

Kretschmann and Minister of Science Theresia Bauer (both Greens) want to pay attention to the worries and needs in a video conversation with students. The focus should be on the lessons from the pandemic. Representatives of the university and the student services are also involved.
