Hamburg (dpa / lno) – Around 200 students want to demonstrate on Tuesday for more face-to-face teaching at universities in the Corona crisis. “The continued closure of the University of Hamburg cannot be justified from the point of view of infection protection and is extremely harmful to society as a whole,” said the organizers, several student representatives, on Friday. Universities are not “infection hotspots”.
“With tried and tested hygiene concepts and increased mutual attention, as much as possible should be present in the winter semester,” is the demand. The protest march is to start at Joseph-Carlebach-Platz and lead to the administration building of the University of Hamburg on Mittelweg.
According to the University of Hamburg, the winter semester will take place in a so-called hybrid form until further notice. This means that the courses are generally held in digital form and only in presence if it is absolutely necessary. According to the university, laboratory internships can be carried out under special hygiene and protective measures.
